Kings XI Punjab mark their fourth victory
Kings XI Punjab headed by Yuvraj Singh marked their fourth successive victory in the IPL Match by defeating the Ganguly’s Kolkatta Knight Riders by 9 runs. When the Kolkatta Knight Riders started batting, the match was controlled by the Punjab Team as their wickets (Kolkatta Team) fell like a pack of cards until Hussey and Saha made a strong partnership which gave a chance for reaching the target score.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first. Shaun Marsh scored the highest run of 40 runs off 32 balls (5 boundaries and 1 sixer) in the Team’s scorecard. Sangakkara scored a decent 28 runs and the team’s captain Yuvraj Singh scored just 17 runs which was not up to his mark. At the end of 20 overs, the Kings XI Punjab scored 178 runs for the fall of 6 wickets.
Chasing a challenging score of 179 runs, the Kolkatta Knight Riders started their Innings with a poor performance. The team’s captain Saurav Ganguly was dismissed for a meager 5 runs. It was David Hussey and Saha who brought back the hopes in the dismounting team. Hussey’s excellent knock of 71 runs off 46 balls (4 boundaries and 4 sixers) and Saha’s 59 runs off 32 balls (2 boundaries and 4 sixers) were not enough for their team’s victory. At the end of 20 overs, the team ended up scoring 169 runs for the fall of 6 wickets. The Kings XI Punjab won the match by 9 runs. Irfan Pathan was announced the Player of the Match.
