Bangalore Royal Challengers win by 3 runs
The Bangalore Royal Challengers headed by Rahul Dravid defeated the Deccan Chargers headed by V.V.S. Laxman, by 3 runs in the IPL match held at Bangalore (Chinnaswamy Stadium).

The Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Bangalore team’s openers Chipli and Jaffer scored 10 and 44 runs respectively. Kohli scored 38 runs. Kallis and Misbah-ul-Haq were dismissed for meager runs. The team’s skipper Rahul Dravid scored 26 runs. At the end of 20 overs, the Bangalore Royal Challengers scored 156 runs for the fall of 8 wickets. R.P. Singh was able to grab 3 wickets for his team – Deccan Chargers.
Chasing the target of 157 runs, the Deccan Chargers started their Innings thru their openers – Adam Gilchrist and V.V.S. Laxman. Gilchrist was dismissed for a meager 10 runs. The team’s skipper V.V.S. Laxman played a sensational Innings by scoring 52 runs off 44 balls (7 boundaries). The team’s highest score was posted by RG Sharma who scored 57 runs off 42 balls (5 boundaries and 3 sixers). The match was really exciting until the last over where the Deccan Chargers fell short of just 3 runs. Praveen Kumar took 3 crucial wickets of Laxman, Gibbs and Afridi. Bangalore Royal Challengers won the match by 3 runs and Praveen Kumar was declared the Man of the Match
